St Cuthbert Wanderers are the new South of Scotland League champions.
The Kirkcudbright side wrapped up the title with a 6-2 win over Nithsdale Wanderers on Wednesday night.
It’s Saints’ first title since 2016 – and they’re the first South champions since 2019 after the last two seasons were abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jordan Williamson’s side could have been crowned on Saturday but slipped up against Abbey Vale.
However, there was no repeat of that at St Mary’s Park against Nithsdale.
Mark O’Rourke gave Saints the lead before Nithsdale equalised.
However, O’Rourke scored twice more before the break to complete a first half hat-trick and leave Saints heading for the title.
They’ll receive the trophy after Saturday’s game against Newton Stewart in Kirkcudbright.
