Spotify was down –here's what we know about the outage

Spotify was down for thousands of users today, with the music streaming app showing error messages and having playback difficulties – but it now seems to be back to full health.

The problems started at around 9.45am ET / 1.45pm GMT, when a large spike on Downdetector showed a high number of users were experiencing issues with the mobile app.
