Liverpool supporters' union, Spirit of Shankly, have opposed a new ticketing system that is set to be introduced ahead of the 2022/23 season at Anfield.
The club yesterday confirmed that, from the coming campaign, official members wishing to distribute match tickets can only do so to individuals attached to the friends and family of their supporter account. Friends and family members must be finalised by August 5, meaning tickets cannot be sent to anyone outside of this list once the season starts.
Changes have also been made to who retains match credits once tickets are passed onto other supporters as part of a new approach taken by the club as it continues to adapt to NFC (near field communication) technology replacing the traditional system of passing through the turnstiles with a paper ticket.
