Spanish superstar Juan Mata has acquired an ownership stake in his A-League club Melbourne Victory as he ponders whether to continue his glittering playng career.

Mata is coming off a stellar season at Victory, claiming the ALM's Johnny Warren Medal with 13 assists and five goals.
