South Yorkshire mayor seeks investors for Doncaster Sheffield Airport

South Yorkshire mayor Oliver Coppard has begun the search for new investors in Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA).

The head of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority has previously pledged to help secure the future of the airport, accusing owners Peel Group of trying to “run down the clock” and undermine confidence in its future.

His calls came after an announcement in July from Peel, which said that the airport no longer commercially viable after being hit by the pandemic and the loss of WizzAir.
