Somvati Amavasya, considered an important occasion in Sanatan Dharma, has created some confusion regarding its date in June 2026. According to the Hindu calendar, the Amavasya Tithi begins on June 14 and continues into June 15. Since the tithi remains present at sunrise on June 15, the day will be observed as Somvati Amavasya. The occasion is associated with the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, along with rituals for ancestors, holy bathing and charitable activities.
