Donald Trump is set to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday night, and insiders told The Daily Beast that he has a “revenge” plan for the press. Trump will reportedly target publications he has accused of writing negatively about his administration, which he has labeled as suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” His aides have reportedly told him he will not stay past his own speech.
Trump has a history of skipping the WHCA dinner, largely due to his unhappiness with press coverage. He told Fox News in 2024 that he had not attended because he was treated “rather rudely and crudely” by the press. “I won the election in 2016. It was one of the greatest elections ever. And you were all witness to it, and I had great – but they were so nasty,” he said.
