If Socceroos striker Apostolos Stamatelopoulos can fire for Sydney FC then coach Ufuk Talay sees no reason why the striker shouldn't be considered in the World Cup equation.

Stamatelopoulos is one of two mid-season arrivals at the third-placed Sky Blues, returning to the A-League Men in a bid to bolster his chances for an unlikely World Cup berth.
