Sir Rod Stewart 's eldest son Sean Stewart has said that he was "hit by a truck at a red light" in a post on social media.
Sean, 42 – who is the youngest child of Rod, 77, and his ex-wife Alana Stewart, also 77 – took to his Instagram Story overnight to share the update with his 86,000 followers.
The entrepreneur shared a selfie that appeared to show him in a hospital gown. The photo showed Sean sporting a yellow neckbrace as well as a pale face covering.
Alongside the photo, Sean wrote in the post: "I got hit by a truck at a red light." He continued in the caption that accompanied the selfie: "Hard out here on these streets."
A rep for Sean told us he was "rear ended" by a truck in Los Angeles yesterday (October 24). They said he was driving to a meeting when the truck "slammed into him rather fast".
They said he went to Cedars Sinai hospital following the accident, with the rep adding that he had an MRI that "showed he has a dislocated shoulder and other injuries".
The rep however said that he is now at home and is expected to make "a full recovery". They added: "Sean is very happy nobody was seriously injured and is very grateful for the efforts of the emergency and medical staff".
They said he has been working on his clothing line DirtyWeekend and some new travel projects for TV and other media.

Sean is the youngest of two children that Rod shares with his ex Alana. The pair, married from 1979 until their divorce in 1984, also have a daughter, Kimberly Stewart, 43.
Rod's eldest child is Sarah Streeter, 58, whom he had with his former girlfriend Sue Boffey. And he shares daughter Ruby Stewart, 35, with his ex-partner Kelly Emberg, 63.
The Grammy Award winning musician has two children from his second marriage, which was to Rachel Hunter, 53. They share Renee Stewart, 30, and Liam Stewart, 28.
The father-of-eight shares his youngest two children with his wife Penny Lancaster, 51. The married couple are parents to sons Alastair Stewart, 16, and Aiden Stewart, 11.
Rod and third wife Penny – who is a model and Loose Women panelist – tied the knot back in 2007. They will celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary next month.
Some of his children have even followed in his footsteps, including Ruby, who is a singer like a father. She was previously part of group Revoltaire, which disbanded in 2012.
Rod has enjoyed success as a musician, having been both a solo singer and a band member in his career. His debut album, An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down, was released in 1969.
