Craig David famously met a girl on a Monday, was making love by Wednesday and was totally in the zone with her by Sunday.
But what you don’t know is that it has since taken the 7 Days singer an incredible 25 years to mend his broken heart after the girl walked away from him just seven days later.
Opening up in an extremely rare personal chat Craig, 41, reveals how he has never been able to find love because he is too scared of getting hurt again.
Craig says: “I was about 15 or 16. There was this girl who I was so into. We had this two week whirlwind.

“It all went south and ultimately we broke up.
“My heart just closed down – I didn’t know what I had done wrong. That set the tone for the next 20 or so years.”
The Rise & Fall singer adds: “I’d never be that vulnerable again.
“There were some women in my life who really tried to break down my barriers and get to my heart, but the whole thing was barricaded with steel gates… it pains me to this day.”
Craig burst on to the scene in 1999 on Artful Dodger hit Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta). He became a huge sex-symbol thank to his No1 hits Fill Me In and 7 Days.
But what fans don’t know is that, in spite of all that adulation, Craig has only just learned to love himself.
He says: “I’ve done a lot of relationship work on myself.
“I now understand self-love.
“I’ve done the shadow work, which now opens me up for a relationship and for love.
“It makes me smile now because it’s been a long time coming.”
Chatting on the How To Fail podcast, Craig – whose eighth album, 22, reached the Top 10 earlier this year – adds: “I’m single, but the heart is wide open.
“I sit here today with the armour down, the heart is open. I know I need to lean into the vulnerability.”
I’m sure it won’t be hard for Craig to find himself a missus. The only question is, What’s Your Flava Craig?
