Jordan Silk is on the verge of his 11th first-class century after rescuing Tasmania from early trouble in their Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia at the WACA Ground.

The Tigers wobbled to 3-49 after winning the toss on Sunday, with Caleb Jewell (0), Tim Ward (15) and Charlie Wakim (29) falling before lunch.
