Signs of Weak Demand Are Weighing on Cocoa Prices

May ICE NY cocoa (CCK25) today is down -232 (-2.81%), and May ICE London cocoa #7 (CAK25) is down -161 (-2.70%).

Cocoa prices today are moderately lower and added to Monday's losses on signs of weak cocoa demand.  Malaysia reported a -15.3% y/y decline in Q1 cocoa processing to 84.192 MT on Monday, and Brazil reported a -13% y/y fall in Q1 cocoa bean grindings to 52.135 MT.  This coming Thursday, Asia, Europe, and North America will report their Q1 cocoa grinding figures.
