A number of people are in a critical condition this afternoon (Sunday) after being pulled from a lake in freezing temperatures in Solihull. Emergency services rushed to a local beauty spot following reports of a major incident.
The incident scene is near Babbs Mill Lake, Fordbridge Road in the Kingshurst area. It's being reported that paramedics, police officers and firefighters are all on the scene, says Birmingham Live.
Emergency services vehicles have been parked all the way down Fordbridge Road and onto the Stonebridge Crescent estate. The incident is believed to have taken place just before 4pm.
Images from the scene capture a large number of 999 responders working in the area, with more than two dozen counted.
West Midlands Police told BirminghamLive: "We are currently at the scene of a serious incident at Babbs Mill Park, Fordbridge Road, Kingshurst, Solihull. A number of people have been pulled from a lake and are being transported to hospital.
"They are believed to be in a critical condition. We are working with fire and rescue, and ambulance colleagues at the scene and will provide further updates in due course."
