Senate control is at stake for both parties in the competitive race for U.S. Senate in Georgia

Incumbent Jon Ossoff (D), Mike Collins (R), and five other candidates are running for United States Senate in Georgia on November 3, 2026.

Georgia Recorder's Ross Williams wrote, "[I]f Democrats want a chance to gain control of the Senate, they’ll need to defend Georgia and other states with vulnerable Democratic incumbents while picking up at least four new seats ... For Republicans, defeating Ossoff in Georgia would represent good insurance against Democrats peeling off seats in other states, and with so much at stake for either side, the race is likely to wind up as one of the most expensive in the country."

In the last three presidential elections, Georgia voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016 and 2024, and Joe Biden (D) in 2020. Ossoff is the only Democrat running for re-election in a state that Trump won in 2024.
