Irish duo Sean Mari and Gabriel Dossen will both return to the ring for at least a bronze medal at the European Championships in Armenia following victories today.
Flyweight Mari defeated third seed Omer Ametovic on a 4-1 split decision.
He will now return to the ring this Friday where a win would guarantee him a top four place.
And it got better as Dossen followed that up with a unanimous decision win over fourth seed Mofid Rami Kiwan of Bulgaria in the 75kg class.
That made it win number two for the week for Dossen after a split decision victory against Spaniard Miguel Cuadrado.
Elsewhere, there was disappointment for Adam Hession as he fell to a 4-1 split decision loss to Belgium's Vastile Ustoroi in the 57kg division.
JP Hale received a bye into the last 16 in the lightweight 60kg division and will now come up against Arslan Khatev from Finland for a place in the quarter-finals.
