- Mills had taken over the breakfast show from Zoe Ball in 2025.
- The 53-year-old, who was among the BBC’s highest paid stars, joined Radio 2 in 2022 replacing Steve Wright in the weekday afternoon slot.
- Mills, who had worked at the BBC since 1998, previously hosted several shows on Radio 1 and had a weekend show on BBC Radio 5 Live between 2019 and 2022.
- Along with his radio work, Mills also appeared in numerous TV shows including Casualty, Hollyoaks, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Race Across the World.
