Scott McTominay insists Scotland only have themselves to blame for yet another sorry case of shooting themselves in the foot.
A 96th-minute winner saw Poland ruin Steve Clarke's side apparent comeback at the national stadium in Glasgow's southside.
The new Napoli signing scored Scotland's second, adding to his new club teammate, Billy Gilmour's goal in the second half.
“It’s a difficult one,” the former Manchester United man said. “I thought we were good in the game, and it wasn’t justified.
“That’s football at times. It’s cruel. Two penalties and a strike from outside of the box.
“They didn’t have many chances from what I remember and we had a lot of box entries.

“It’s disappointing, but we can take belief from it as we didn’t give up.
“The goals are self-inflicted from our point of view. These are making us fall a little bit short at the moment and at the Euros.
“We’ll go have a look at the little tweaks we can make to our performance, which we can take confidence from, and then hopefully we can improve.
“That’s football, you’re going to get mistakes. Every single game you watch you’ll see mistakes – sometimes you get punished, and sometimes you don’t. As a group, we have to take ownership.
“You can’t do anything but your best on the pitch, score the next goal and against Portugal hopefully we can be the ones who do that.”
