A man who says he saw "light orbs" in the sky above Edinburgh is asking the public to help him identify a potential UFO sighting. The Leith man, who wishes to remain anonymous, says he wouldn't rule out an alien visit from another planet or universe.
Instead, he is asking if anyone can help him identify the sighting. The video - shared with Edinburgh Live - shows a strange light dancing through the sky in the early hours of Saturday June 11.
The man who captured the video is determined to get to the bottom of its origin. He said: “I would like to help get to the bottom of what this is as there seem to be loads of reports of the same thing in the skies above Leith recently.
“I found a lot of reports on the internet that seem to be the same thing. I wouldn’t rule out UFO’ s but I do find it strange that if extraterrestrial life had made it here then why wouldn't we have more compelling evidence of it to date?
“So I do think that given these light orbs that float across the sky have been seen by so many people, and even captured on video, there might also be some other explanation? “I do think this is fascinating and would love to understand what is at play here.”
Earlier this month, Edinburgh Live reporter Jeanette Cousland, who lives by the shore in Leith, had captured footage of a strange light “floating” and “spinning” in the skies on June 13 at around 01:48am. She said she was extremely intrigued to find out what the UFO was and added that it seemed to be “happening about every night.”
At first she thought it may have been Saturn passing as it was due to be visible in early June but later decided that it could not be due to the speed at which it was travelling and the time she captured her video. Jeanette said: “My first thought was, what's that floating and spinning so low in the sky?
"I’ve seen quite a bit of activity in the skies over the pandemic when they were supposed to be empty from aircrafts. I work nightshift and sometimes I see drones and other low flying objects.
“It could’ve been anything, I just caught a fleeting glimpse passing by my eye. Anything is possible, it could be extra terrestrials.”
When asked about whether she believed in aliens, she continued: “I'm open minded about UFOs, anything is possible about spaceships, flying saucers from other planets. Extra terrestrials I believe are already walking amongst us, collecting information from human beings to take back to their base station.
“I believe they are intelligent beings. NASA knows there are happenings going on but they keep it quiet.
“It is possible that aliens have discovered humans on the planet earth even though we have not discovered their planet yet.”
