School for young gamers to pursue 'career in esports' launches at Media City

A gaming school for young people has in Media City.

A first of it's kind, the Manchester Esports Academy (MEA) will give access to the multi-billion pound industry for those aged between eight and 16-years-old.

The academy was officially launched by member of parliament Angela Rayner on Saturday (June 3) as part of the 'We Invented the Weekend' festival in Media City and Salford Quays. During the festival, families were given taster sessions of the MEA syllabus which will include professional coaching, careers education and health and nutrition.
