'Saw it coming a mile off' - Manchester United fans make same complaint about new green kit

Manchester United fans are unimpressed by the club’s decision to opt for a lime green third kit this season.

Many complained of the design being hard to see on the TV against the backdrop of the pitch. United were unable to don their traditional home red shirt or the new white away strip due to a colour clash.

But on a very sunny afternoon, some of those watching from home found it difficult to distinguish clear figures. Some may have been joking that neither could the players after the team found themselves four goals down within 35 minutes.

Meanwhile, others online quipped that the shade was similar to the fluorescent overcoats worn by stewards at the games. It also prompted a number to reminisce about the 1996 match against Southampton when United changed their grey shirts for blue ones at half-time.

Sir Alex Ferguson argued his players could not distinguish each other from the backdrop of the crowd. This time, fans on Twitter said the colour clash with the pitch was the issue.
