Saturday Night Takeaway fans are all saying the same thing about Toni Collette as guest announcer

Hollywood star Toni Collette is the guest announcer on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and TV fans can't believe the Geordie cheeky chappies snagged an Oscar-nominee to appear on the show.

Collette appears in the announcer's booth this week, following guests David Tennant, Big Zuu and Daisy May Cooper in this current series.

The Oscar-nominated Australian actress first shot to fame in Muriel's Wedding in the 1990s. She also best known for her roles in The Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine, and Hereditary. She did force the hosts to make an apology, mind, as she swore minutes into the live show as she played a movie-themed game during which she won families around the UK a place on the plane to Florida.

The star had to guess which movies the families were acting out against a timer and shouted: "Sh*t! Somebody help me!" as she struggled to pinpoint one title. Ant and Dec didn't notice but they did apologise after a break.

Toni Collette swore on the live show, but fans were in awe that Ant & Dec booked the Oscar-nominee (ITV)

But, fans didn't really mind about Toni's slip of the tongue and instead were impressed with the celebrity, A-list signing.

One fan tweeted: "Wow loving the show so far I still can’t believe Toni collette is the guest announcer on

@itvtakeaway and she’s killing it @antanddec." Another wrote: "Can't quite believe they managed to get Toni Collette on the show. Love her." A third called Toni an 'icon': "not that i’m complaining bc i love her but HOW did this lot get mother icon legend toni collette."

Also tonight Joe Wicks was the target of 'Get Out of Me Ear' and Sing Along Live returned and as always there'll be loads of prizes and surprises for some audience members.

Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears will perform an epic, disco-themed End of the Show Show, too. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
