There were chaotic scenes on Saturday Kitchen when a chef fell off her chair and guests dissolved into giggles during a segment on beer tasting. New York-based Alison Roman had just made a raspberry ricotta cake and had gone to sit down at the table.
But the 37-year-old took a tumble as she accidentally sat on the ‘wine table’ instead of her chair.
The camera cut to wine expert Helen McGinn talking about a sparkling rose before viewers heard an almighty thud. Alison was heard saying: “Oh my God!” as a shocked Helen asked: “Are you alright?”

Fans were also left in hysterics, with many taking to Twitter to call it the “best episode ever”, another described the whole episode of the live show "comedy gold".
Later on in the show guests Alison, Helen, actress Nadia Wadia and chef Nathan Outlaw erupted into fits of giggles again as brewer Jaega Wise presented a beer segment.
As everyone took part in a tasting demonstration, they struggled to keep a straight face as Jaega said: “In beer it’s super important... we never spit, we always swallow.”
Host Matt stepped it to ask: “What’s happened?” before telling guests to “concentrate” as the segment descended into lots of giggles.
Fan John James on Twitter said: "There should be a public inquiry if Saturday Kitchen doesn’t receive a BAFTA for today’s episode alone.. As someone who has worked on cookery shows, this is what live TV is all about - well done for getting on with it!"
