This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Franco-Cameroonian artist Sandra Nkaké, who has just released "Scars", her fourth studio album, and the up-and-coming Mille Désirs, who grew up between Côte d'Ivoire, France, and the UK, and recently dropped a debut EP entitled "Lust and Love". Both artists have dug deep and faced their shadow selves to produce these new offerings. Nkaké soothes us with her self-described raspy voice and acoustic guitar, celebrating resilience and sorority. She reminds listeners that healing and self-reconstruction are possible, both on an individual and communal level. Mille Désirs, on the other hand, explores his desires and sexuality with music inspired by the sensual intensity of the dancefloor and the thrilling prospects of nocturnal encounters.
