Samsung teases Galaxy Z Fold 8 with cryptic ASMR videos

Samsung social media teaser of a chocolate bar with text reading "sweet new shape".

Samsung has been hinting about an exciting new launch with a series of creatively cryptic teasers. While each video has a unique spin, there's one common theme throughout – it's all about the shape – but what could it mean?

The sneaky hints have set Samsung fans ablaze with theories, with many believing this could be a teaser for the new Galaxy Z Fold 8. With Samsung proudly producing some of the best camera phones on the market, the Fold 8 has some big boots to fill, but for now, the hype is at an all-time high (and all it took was a rectangle).

The sneaky teasers began appearing on Samsung's Instagram page, where the brand shared short videos that debuted a "new shape". Notably shorter than Samsung's typical tall, slim smartphone design, the dinkier size is a "cut to what matters" according to one of the teasers – a new style that "feels just right". From slicing pizza to breaking chocolate, the videos are an ultra-satisfying ASMR treat, so turn your volume up.

While most of the videos are suitably cryptic, one clip appeared to confirm rumours about the Fold 8. Beginning with an abstract array of pink, purple and orange splodges, the paints are satisfyingly squeegeed to reveal the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 wallpaper, while debuting the compact new shape.
