Sabrina Carpenter gave fans new music to obsess over the weekend with the release of her highly anticipated album 'Short n' Sweet'.
In a double treat for fans, the singer also shared an R-rated new music video for her latest single, 'Taste', co-starring Jenna Ortega. The clip that dropped late this evening, has quickly become a talking point for its dark humour and violent storyline that ends with a too-hot-to-handle lip lock between the two ladies.
The video portrays Carpenter and Ortega as rivals feuding over the same boyfriend, leading them to go to increasingly gruesome lengths and comical attempts to get the man of their dreams.
Carpenter's video is not your regular girly video and begins with a disclaimer and trigger warning. The clip features several dramatic scenes, including one in the shower that is reminiscent of the iconic stabbing scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s 'Psycho'.
'Taste' is the third single from 'Short n' Sweet' album, following Carpenter's summer hits 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please'. The album, which dropped today, August 23, marks Carpenter's sixth studio release, following her 2022 album 'Emails I Can’t Send'.
The new album features contributions from prominent songwriters and producers, including Jack Antonoff, Julia Michaels, Amy Allen, John Ryan, Julian Bunetta, and Ian Kirkpatrick.
Carpenter will soon embark on a tour to promote the album with the first show scheduled for September 23 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The tour will conclude on November 15 in Los Angeles.
