Rylan Clark appears to make cryptic dig at Phillip Schofield as This Morning row intensifies

Rylan Clark recently hinted at a feud with an unnamed TV personality - but it appears the identity of that person may have been Phillip Schofield.

In a blistering attack, the former X Factor contestant has hit out at a television presenter as he explained the "walls are crumbling".

Over the past few days, This Morning has been embroiled in a heated row following allegations that regular hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have had a dramatic falling out.

The pair who have been the best of friends since they started working together appear to have cooled off their friendship but have put on a happy face while on-screen.

Speaking out, Rylan who has also hosted the ITV magazine show said: "I've been in this industry for nearly 11 years, and all I've ever been is nice and polite to people.

"That's starting to pay off for me now because there are people in this industry who aren't like that.

"They think they're something special and the walls are starting to fall."

Speaking previously to Waitrose and Partners Weekend, Rylan said: "People can see through it all now. People can see who are the real ones and can very much see who isn't."

Rylan, 34, however, isn't the only person to have made a thinly veiled dig, with former This Morning star Fern Britton wading in on the drama with a cryptic social media post.

The former This Morning presenter, who was axed from the show with Holly Willoughby replacing her in 2008, said that she and Eamonn Holmes had a catch-up over the phone after he called her out of the blue.

She tweeted on Monday evening: "Unexpected calls from old mates are so lovely.

"Just had the loveliest catch-up with @EamonnHolmes. I think we have known each other since the 80s when we were babies shooting the breeze."

Their conversation came hours after Eamonn hit out at Holly on his GB News show, saying: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

"They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.

"It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else."
