Rutherglen Glencairn boss relishing cup clash as he eyes fixture release day

Rutherglen Glencairn fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the West of Scotland Football League fixtures this week, but the club have their first competitive fixture in the diary for the 2022/23 campaign.

The draw for the opening rounds of the South Challenge Cup was made on Sunday with Willie Harvey’s side handed a familiar opponent.

Glens face a tie at home with old foes Finnart on August 20, and the winner of that clash will be playing either Benburb or Dalry Thistle in the second round.
