A chain of restaurants formerly known as McDonald's in Russia has announced a new name and logo following the fast food giant's departure from the country.
McDonald's is among some of the massive global brands that has stopped all trading and dealings with Russia after the nation began its invasion of Ukraine. However, 15 of the old restaurants will now reopen over the weekend with a new logo and new name.
The former McDonald's locations are now being operated by Sistema PBO in Russia. The corporation revealed the new green logo as well as the reasoning behind it, Wale Online reports.

"The green background of the logo symbolises the quality of products and service that our guests are accustomed to," a Sistemo PBO spokesperson told TASS, Russia's state news agency." The yellow lines emblazoned on the logo are reported to be fries while the circle represents a burger.
Some of the new names being considered for the restaurants include "Tot Samyi" (the same one) and "Svobodnaya Kassa" which means "available cash register", reports the BBC. McDonald's has kept its trademark rights in Russia which means its brand, name and logo cannot be used by any other company in the country.
McDonald's has 15 years to divide whether it wants to restart business in Russia.
