The Los Angeles Lakers have been short-handed for a little while.
It started on Friday when they took on the Denver Nuggets and Anthony Davis suffered a foot injury that caused him to sit out the second half. Even without him, the Lakers were able to whip Denver, 126-108.
After defeating the Washington Wizards on Sunday, L.A. headed on the road to play the Phoenix Suns on Monday, but it had to do so without Davis, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Austin Reaves.
Not surprisingly, the Suns burned the Lakers to a crisp, 130-104.
On Wednesday evening, the Lakers visit the Sacramento Kings. James will return to the lineup, but he will not have Davis, Westbrook or Reaves by his side.
Austin Reaves has also been downgraded to out with his right ankle sprain, as the Lakers will have to play at Sacramento without Reaves, Westbrook and Davis. https://t.co/PXApvUBETp

This upcoming stretch without Davis will be a very stiff test for L.A. and will likely define how this season turns out. After a home contest on Friday versus the Charlotte Hornets, the team will start a five-game road trip on Christmas Day.
