Kathryn Thomas is calling on ‘inspirational’ people to sign up to lead the new season of RTE's Operation Transformation, which is set to hit screens in January 2023.
Filming is expected to kick off in weeks for the new season, and the presenter and longtime host of the programme said they are still on the hunt for their new leaders. Kathryn Thomas said: “Operation Transformation is back and we are looking for five inspirational people to lead the nation in 2023.
“Last year’s leaders were incredible weren’t they, and they are still feeling the benefits of the show ten months on. And that is what the show is about. It’s about providing you with the tools and confidence to really feel the best version of yourself.”

The exercise and health enthusiast, 43, who runs her own fitness retreat company, Pure Results, added: “Maybe your goal is to feel fitter, maybe it is to lose weight, maybe it is to run a 5k,” and promised to be there to support the new cast throughout their journey.
She said: “We will be there to support you every step of the way. You have a panel of experts at your disposal.
“And why don’t you say 2023 is the year that I'm going to put myself first,” she said, as she concluded the public call out for the RTE One show. Applicants can apply online now on the RTE website.
The application form reads: "We are now looking for our five new leaders from across the country to take on a health and wellness plan with the aim of resetting and kick-starting a new chapter in their lives. Kathryn Thomas will be on hand to encourage our leaders every step of the way.
"Devising the health and wellness plan and guiding the five leaders are fitness coach Karl Henry, principal clinical psychologist Dr. Eddie Murphy, dietitian Aoife Hearne, and general practitioner Dr. Sumi Dunne."
Last season, Kathryn and the Operation Transformation team were forced to defend the show, after claims from eating disorder group BodyWhys that it is “triggering” for some people, while thousands also signed a petition calling on RTE to axe the programme.
As she wrapped last year’s finale, mother of two Kathryn firmly defended the show, and said: “I want to say I am so proud of this show, so proud of the people who work on it, so proud of the work that it does, it is really important.
“It is an important show. And I would not be working on the show, I am the mother of two daughters, if I did not believe in the integrity of it.”
She went on to hit back at trolling during the series, and added: “But as I said, everybody is entitled to their opinion. Not everybody has to love the show.”
