Ratings for Tommy Tiernan’s Saturday night show are down, while the Late Late is continuing to bring in more than half a million viewers each week.
In figures requested by the Irish Mirror, RTE revealed the comedian’s popular chat programme pulled in an average of 376,000 and had a 37% share at the weekend.
This is down almost 50,000 from last week’s, which pulled in an average of 425,000 with a 38% share, while a further 91,000 watched the episode back on the RTE Player.
The loss in viewers comes in the wake of the return of social scenes and nightlife as the Government lifted restrictions on last week.
An RTE Spokesperson said: "The Tommy Tiernan Show is a huge success show for RTE and continues to atrract viewers every week."
The Navan man enjoyed a winning streak in season five last winter, knocking Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy off the top spot for a few weeks last season as he managed to pull in more than half a million fans to his improvised show.
But it seems Tubs is back in business after a successful start to the new year. A spokesperson for RTE said: “The Late Late Show was the most watched programme of the weekend on Irish television where an average of 512,000 watched across RTE One and RTE One+1.”
Elsewhere in the weekend ratings war, Movie Night on Dancing With The Stars proved a hit with audiences, and pulled in an average audience of 466,000 and 36% share.
Later on Sunday night, drama series Smother had an average of 306,000 and a 26% share.
