Royal Family: Kate Middleton is 'brought drink by Prince William' at night

The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her hands-on parenting, which the world recently saw when she had to discipline Prince Louis on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The 40-year-old's parenting strategies have come to light since she became a mum in 2013, when her first son, Prince George was born, including the banning of shouting amongst her three children.

A working mum, Kate is a senior royal and has had her hands full recently with the Jubilee and William's 40th celebrations. But despite being rushed off her feet with royal duties, the Duchess knows when to relax.

There's a busy summer ahead for the Cambridges, as the family of five gears up to move from Kensington Palace to Windsor, to be closer to Her Majesty. Although the Queen is said to be at the heart of the family's decision to move away from London, Kate and William's children are also being prioritised.

Although they prioritise their children, Kate and William make sure to take care of each other in their own ways. When George, Charlotte and Louis have gone to bed, the pair spend some time to relax alone.

Speaking to People back in December, a family friend said: "William will bring Kate a gin and tonic. They look after each other, but in different ways."

Kate and William have established strong rules when it comes to keeping their children in check at home, and there is understood to be one non-negotiable rule in their household: no shouting. If George, Charlotte, or Louis break this rule, then they face consequences.

An insider told The Sun: "Shouting is absolutely ‘off limits’ for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal. There’s no ’naughty step’ but there is a ‘chat sofa’. Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them.

"It is a military operation but you would never guess it because they work ferociously hard on their children’s upbringing and making it seem relaxed and happy for the three of them. They are very good at listening to the children but being firm."

When the family move to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate later this summer, the children will enjoy a new lifestyle. A friend of the family explained to The Sunday Times: "The reality is they are quite confined in what they can do in London. The kids can't go into the park and kick a football with friends; their plan is to be there for the next 10 to 15 years, then move to Anmer, which is so special to them."

As a result of the big move, George and Charlotte will be moving schools. At present, the siblings attend Thomas's Battersea Prep School in the Capital, but are said to be transferring to a new co-educational private school in Berkshire.
