Ross Wilson has wished 'true Rangers man' John Bennett a successful chairmanship as he departed for Nottingham Forest.
The Light Blues' former sporting director has returned south of the border with the English Premier League outfit following three-and-a-half years of work with the Ibrox men's first team. In that period, they won a historic 55th league title under Steven Gerrard, a first Scottish Cup for 13 years and reached the Europa League Final last season before a heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to Bundesliga side Frankfurt. They also reached the Champions League group stage this season playing against Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax.
His time at the club also brought two record transfer sells in the shape of Nathan Patterson to Everton and Calvin Bassey to Ajax. Speaking following the news of his move to the City Ground, he told the Rangers official website: “I would like to thank the players, led superbly by captain James Tavernier, and the manager Michael Beale, as well as all those who have come before them in the three and a half years I have spent at Rangers.
