Rod Stewart's son, 11, rushed to hospital after collapsing and 'turning blue'

Rod Stewart's 11-year-old son was rushed to hospital after collapsing at a football match.

The 77-year-old singer, who played at the M&S Bank Arena on Tuesday night, feared his son, Aiden, had suffered a heart attack while playing for his Young Hoops Under 12s team. The dad said that the young boy was "going blue and was unconscious".

Aiden was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after collapsing. Rod recalled the "scary" moment where he thought his son was seriously ill.

He revealed his son had in fact suffered a panic attack. Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine., the worried dad said: "We thought my boy had a heart attack.

"He was going blue and was unconscious until he calmed down. It was scary, but it turned out to be a panic attack."

He also told the publication that another lad on the team fell backwards and banged his head, which caused another ambulance to be called. The singer added: "In all of my days watching football, that's the only time two ambulances had been called."

Rod shares his son Aiden with his wife Penny Lancaster Stewart. The Maggie May singer also has seven other children.
