Robbie Neilson admits he is still in the market for another central defender after opting against the signing of Joe Wright.
The former Doncaster Rovers defender spent time on trial in Gorgie with the Jambos handed him run outs in the friendly wins over East Fife, Spartans and Bonnyrigg Rose. Despite impressing during his stint Neilson decided not to offer terms to the stopper after admitting he is looking for something 'a wee bit different'.
The duo are set to be reunited in the new season after Derek McInnes and Kilmarnock moved quickly to bring the defender on board as the Rugby Park outfit continue to add to their ranks following a quick-fire return to the Premiership. They bounced back at the first time of asking following their Championship title success last season. Neilson said: "I thought Joe did very well, but I’m sure he’ll do well at Kilmarnock. We’re still looking in that area but we’re looking for something a wee bit different."
