ROAD police claimed to have spotted a person cycling on the M8 in Glasgow.
Officers were travelling on the Kingston Bridge when they said they spotted the individual and an image shared by police on social media appears to show a cyclist near a car and lorry.
They said that a person was charged, reported and "faces a day in court".
Following the alleged incident, police issued a warning regarding cycling on motorways.
A spokesperson said: "For the avoidance of doubt: cyclists and pedestrians are not allowed on a motorway.
"It poses a massive danger to all road users and we robustly deal with any we catch."
