Rife violence, drugs exposed in detention centre audit

A high risk of violence and widespread use of illicit substances have been identified as urgent concerns in Australia's largest immigration detention centre.

The problems were raised in a recent Commonwealth Ombudsman audit following a visit to Villawood Immigration Detention Centre in southwest Sydney in March.
