Ride Concepts release a new trail riding range of MTB shoes called the Accomplice

Ride Concepts add the athletic-inspired Accomplice shoe to its range

Ride Concepts has only been around since 2018 but has been a strong contender in the best mountain bike shoe market, producing some of the best MTB footwear. The US brand has added a new series of shoes to its arsenal, the Accomplice is an athletic-inspired trail shoe that comes in both a clipless and flat pedal shoe and with either lace or Boa closure.

Ride Concepts has designed the Accomplice with a four-way stretch slip tongue, rather than a traditional version, which they say offers more comfort and helps keep dirt and debris out as well. The nylon tech upper gives the shoe a slimmer form and has suede eye row detail in which either laces or Boa cables are threaded through. The Boa version uses a L6 Fit System for easy tightening and fast release and the dial winds in a textile TX4 lace.

When it comes to mountain bike shoes it's the sole that makes or breaks a pair of shoes on the trail. Ride Concepts has used their MAX GRIP compound for grip whether your using the best mountain bike flat pedals or clipless platforms.

There's an EVA midsole to help absorb trail buzz and the shoe is rated as a level three out of five in stiffness on the Ride Concepts scale, balancing pedal performance and walkability.

The Accomplice comes in men's sizes between US 7 to US 15 (EU 39.5 - EU 49.5) and US 5 to US 10 (EU 3.5 - EU 41.5) for women, with all but the three biggest men's sizes coming with half-size options too.

Ride Concepts says that the Accomplice weighs 760g per pair for men's size 10 US – which is lighter than many rival trail shoes.

The lace-up Accomplice comes in a couple of color options while the Boa shoes are only available in black for men and black/grey for women.

Pricing starts at $130.00 / £119.95 for the flat pedal lace shoe and $140.00 / £129.95 for the clipless version. The Boa shoes cost $140.00 / £139.95 for the plat pedal version and $150.00 / £149.95 for the clipless. All the models are available to buy now.
