Richarlison to Arsenal transfer latest: Gunners 'offered deal', £50m price, Everton desire

The summer transfer window is getting closer and with Champions League qualification looking like a distinct possibility for the Gunners, the club will be looking at which options can be signed to take the squad to the next level. Everton's Richarlison could be one such option for the Gunners.

Since the 24-year-old's arrival in the Premier League he has become a regular goalscorer as well as a full Brazil international, earning 37 caps and scoring 13 goals for his country. His stock has dropped somewhat this season, though, this is due to the poor form of his club, with the Toffees languishing in a relegation battle.

However, with more attacking depth clearly needed at the Emirates, a Brazilian international is not the kind of signing that will be turned down by the Arsenal faithful. The 24-year old has scored 7 goals in 24 Premier League games this season in a struggling Everton side and could bring just the kind of attacking option the Gunners need with his ability to play any role across the forward line.

Now, football.london has rounded up all the speculation regarding Richarlison's future:

Arsenal 'offered chance' to sign Richarlison

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Richarlison by Everton. Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “I think Arsenal definitely have a possibility of signing Richarlison.

“They know that he could leave Everton and is likely to leave Everton in the summer. They’ve been offered the chance to sign him.”

Asking price

Richarlison cost Everton £50 million when he was signed from Watford by Marco Silva in 2018 - his £110,000 wage will run for the length of his contract, which runs out in two years' time.

Any fee would be dependent on whether the Toffees are a Premier League club heading into next season, with a deal worth in excess of the £50 million paid in 2018 unlikely should the Merseyside club be playing Championship football next season.

This is especially the case with the club reported to have suffered £100 million losses over the course of the last financial year, making player sales a priority.

Lampard verdict

Despite the club's well publicised need to sell, Everton manager Frank Lampard has reiterated the Brazilian's desire to remain on Merseyside for the time being.

Recently, he spoke about the forward's commitment to the club, he said: "Absolutely his commitment is there. He can’t and I can’t stop that type of talk," the Everton boss said. "If you elevate yourself to the level of performance that he has shown, particularly as a striker, then it’s very understandable that people talk about you in different ways.

"They talk about your form, they talk about how you live your life. With modern players, my job is to make sure they are absolutely focused. I haven’t had to have that conversation with him because I know how determined he is.

"I know it isn’t easy sometimes for players to vocalise that. What they need to do is show on the pitch and Dominic hasn’t had the opportunity to do that this season. We feel like we have got him in a good place, so now is the time to show."

World Cup factor

Richarlison has been a part of the Brazil squad for a number of years and has scored three goals in two matches in 2022, but the main goal this year will be to be part of a World Cup squad.

Brazil are currently favourited for the tournament in Qatar and the forward has become an integral part of Tite's squad since the last tournament in 2018.

However, a place in a highly competitive squad will be at risk following a potential Everton relegation, meaning that Richarlison will be looking to find a high profile club which supports his ambitions in both the short-term and long-term.
