The New England Patriots are re-signing running back James White on a two-year, $2.5 million deal, according to multiple reports.
White finished his 2021 season on injured reserve after hurting his hip and undergoing surgery. He finished the season with 10 carries for 38 yards and one touchdown with 12 receptions for 94 yards over three games. He and Mac Jones showed solid rapport, even in a short span.
White rejoins a Patriots running back group which includes Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and J.J. Taylor. Running back Brandon Bolden is among the team’s pending free agents.
White also joins a large class of pending Patriots free agents to re-sign with the team. Safety Devin McCourty, kicker Nick Folk, quarterback Brian Hoyer, receiver Matthew Slater and center James Ferentz are all set to return on new contract.
