And we’re off: it’s NFL schedule release day, and we’ll soon know the dates and times for every game in the 2023 season. Things are off to a good start for the New Orleans Saints, who won’t be playing one of their few outdoors road games in the cold.
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports that the New Orleans Saints will visit the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 for Green Bay’s home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT on Sept. 24, with the game being broadcast on FOX.
It’s a new era for both teams. The Saints are pushing all their chips in on Derek Carr curing what’s ailed their offense so they can get back to the playoffs. The Packers are giving Jordan Love the opportunity he’s been preparing for as Aaron Rodgers’ understudy the last few years. Each of these squads has postseason aspirations, and this could be an early test to see which of them is up to snuff.
Still, the uncertainty surrounding them means this matchup is being shuffled into the early-afternoon slot rather than a more-prominent broadcast later in the day.
More game dates will be reported as we get closer to the official release at 7 p.m. CT. Check Saints Wire often for updates.
