Well, maybe the Carolina Panthers won’t be interviewing Jim Harbaugh after all.
Will Kunkel of FOX Charlotte has now reported that Harbaugh—in a private conversation with Queen City News—stated that he believes he’ll be staying right where he is for 2023.
In a conversation with Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan Head Coach tells @Queen_City_News “although no one knows the future I think I will be coaching Michigan next year.“

Kunkel, who was the first to report on Harbaugh’s recent chat with Panthers owner David Tepper about the team’s head-coaching job, noted that the above statement was made on Tuesday night.
The former Carolina quarterback has spent the last eight years leading his alma mater up in Ann Arbor, Mich. Since 2015, the Wolverines have gone 74-25 under Harbaugh—with a 1-6 record in bowl games.
Harbaugh’s most recent tenure in the league ended in 2014, after spending four seasons as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. There, he went 44-19-1—picking up NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2011, a pair of NFC West division titles and a Super Bowl appearance in 2012.
