Report: Gonzaga Star Drew Timme Lands With NBA Power as Undrafted Free Agent

The Bucks are planning to sign Gonzaga star Drew Timme to an Exhibit 10 deal as an undrafted free agent, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Milwaukee is bringing in the former first-team All-American on an Exhibit 10 deal, which is a minimum contract that can be converted to a two-way deal prior to the start of the season.

Timme, who was one of the nation’s best big men this past season (and in all four of his years at Gonzaga), went undrafted on Thursday night as the NBA continues to pivot away from traditional big men. Timme joined Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, who was the National Player of the Year and UConn’s Adama Sanogo, the Final Four MVP, as big men who were not selected on Thursday night.

Timme is an intriguing add to the Bucks given how hard he plays and his solid post game that helped him develop into one of the best players in college basketball.

He averaged 21.2 points and 7.5 rebounds this past season, and 17.2 points and 6.7 rebounds over his career with the Bulldogs.

Timme will need to develop a jump shot to stretch the floor and mesh at the NBA level, but the talent is worth the gamble for Milwaukee who will bring him in this summer to see what he can do.
