Report: Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey to Miss Start of Regular Season With Knee Injury

Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey will undergo knee surgery after suffering a meniscus injury during Thursday’s training camp, which will require him to miss the beginning of the 2023 season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported that Ramsey’s surgery will take place on Friday.

Schefter added that Ramsey’s ACL is intact. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the six-time Pro Bowler is nursing an injury to his meniscus and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.

If he misses eight weeks from Thursday, he would only miss two regular season games.

However, Ramsey’s recovery timeline won’t be official until after doctors can look further into whether they need to remove or just repair the meniscus, Pelissero reports. Repairing the meniscus would require more recovery time.

Ramsey tweeted a positive message to his fans shortly before the news of his knee injury broke.

"I’ll be back on that field stronger than ever… in due time!” Ramsey tweeted. “This is [sic] SO minor for God’s child! I trust fully & know He got me! Im forever grateful to worship His name! I know my brothers gone hold it down until I’m back tho!”

This will be Ramsey’s first season with the Dolphins after he was traded from the Rams back in March.
