I'm A Celebrity fans were left feeling a sense of deja vu on Sunday evening as Matt Hancock embraced girlfriend Gina Coladangelo following his exit from camp.
And now the reason behind the fallen politician’s “intense” PDA has reportedly been revealed.
The disgraced MP quit his role as Health Secretary during Covid after he was caught breaking lockdown rules having an affair with his aide.
Images circulated of the pair affectionately embracing at the time, sharing a kiss while Hancock's hand was on his lover's rear.
And as he exited the jungle in third place on the final night, he leapt into the arms of the woman he cheated on his three children’s mum Martha with.
The MP proved old habits die hard as he cheekily seemed to place his hand in the same position as the pics which sealed his fate as Health Secretary.
He was filmed making his way up the famous red bridge, lit with sparklers and was clearly delighted as he saw Gina coming towards him. Hugging her tightly, he loudly told her how much he loved her, saying in her ear: "I love you so much."
The couple have scarcely taken their hands off each other since their very public reunion, acting like a “new celebrity couple” in the stages of “building the official narrative” of their relationship for the rest of the world to see, according to our body language expert Judi James.
The reasons for Hancock’s nauseating PDA since leaving camp has been explained by a relationship expert, who’s claimed their broadcasted fondness is due to them post leaving long-term relationships to be together.
Tina Wilson Dating Expert and Founder of Wingman, explained to the Mail Online : “Usually PDAs are overlooked if you are a young couple or it is your first serious relationship or love, but today we are seeing more people become confident with intense PDA in new relationships after a long term past relationship or post-divorce.
“Partly, this is to prove the haters wrong, especially if we are referencing a famous face like Matt Hancock who was heavily criticised for his affair and behaviour It could also be to validate and remind your new partner of just how much they mean to them.
“When a couple are on the same page PDA can look extremely intense to others and the display of public affection can most certainly become even more passionate.
“Romantic and caring gestures, such as, holding hands or a random kiss will release happy hormones, giving the person a natural high, and unconsciously the couple will keep seeking this feeling in each other. Particularly for famous people, they can really enjoy showing off and flaunting their new love for all to see.”
She went on to compare Matt and Gina’s PDA to that exhibited by Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker who she says enjoy the “thrill” of it and have synonymised it with their brand as a couple.
