The Baltimore Ravens have many needs to fill as they continue to navigate through their 2022 offseason. While the NFL draft isn’t until late-April, the NFL scouting combine is just a few weeks away, and then draft night will be upon us faster than people realize.
In a post-Super Bowl mock draft by the Bleacher Report NFL scouting department, Baltimore was able to secure a star cornerback prospect at No. 14, selecting Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner out of the University of Cincinnati. When explaining the choice, Corey Giddings talked about how the Ravens’ secondary was hit hard by the injury bug in 2021.
“The Ravens’ secondary was hit with the injury bug this past season, and this could be the year to add quality depth. Gardner is a versatile player who can play in multiple schemes and techniques. With Jimmy Smith heading into free agency, Gardner would be a great pick at this slot.”
Gardner is a 6-foot-3 cornerback who would add plenty of size to Baltimore’s defensive back room. With the team potentially undergoing some massive changes in the secondary, they could opt to look for a cornerback in the early rounds of the 2022 draft. If that is the case, Gardner would be a phenomenal choice.
