New Leeds United signing Rasmus Kristensen claimed that it was incredible to be sat inside Elland Road for the first time after his arrival was announced. The Whites announced the completion of his move from Red Bull Salzburg on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
He becomes the second player to sign for Leeds from the Austrian champions as he joins Brenden Aaronson in renewing acquaintances with Jesse Marsch. He played under the American’s stewardship for two years at Salzburg and admitted that he can’t wait to continue to build the bond he created with him at his former club.
“I had a brilliant relationship with him at Salzburg and when he was appointed manager here, I think it was a great decision for the club,” he told LUTV in his first interview. “I feel like I fit right into the philosophy and system that he wants to play. I hope I can show that on the pitch.”

Having spent the last couple of weeks on international duty with Denmark, Kristensen arrived at Elland Road for the first time for his medical and the subsequent announcement of his arrival. Sat in the Jack Charlton Stand for his interview, he couldn’t help but admire the view.
“I’m blown away by the view that I have here in the stadium,” claimed Kristensen. “I’ve heard so much about it, so many tales, so many stories but to be here in person is just incredible.
“I can imagine [what the atmosphere is like] but I have been told that it’s better than you can imagine! I want to experience it on my own.”
While negotiations continued in the background as Kristensen focused on his international duties, he emphasised the size of the club he was in the process of signing for in a press conference. The 24-year-old went on to elaborate on his knowledge of the Whites.
“I know a lot of things about the club,” he added. “Where I’m from, a small village, most of my father’s mates are Leeds fans. It’s a huge, historical club which is playing in the best league in the world. It fits everything that I love about a football club.
“I recognise Leeds as a huge club and, when I heard about the interest, of course I looked at the project and what’s going on, then I was 100% convinced.”
From what they have read and heard over the last couple of weeks, supporters will know that they are getting a powerful, athletic right-back with the signing of Kristensen. Although, just to further build on what they have been able to find out, he was asked to describe himself as a player.
“I see myself as a physical, emotional power player,” Kristensen claimed. “I like to go forward, I like to run up and down the flank and I think I’ve got a good engine for that. Most of all, I’m just a guy who puts 100% effort in every time I’m on the pitch and I’ll die with my shoes on!”
