A rare futuristic 1985 Domino’s Pizza delivery car has been put up for auction in Las Vegas.
Only ten of these Tritan A2 cars were made in the 1980s when Domino’s founder Tom Monaghan commissioned them.
The unique car is shaped like a rocketship at the front and the door also doubles as the front windscreen, which comes down over the bonnet like a futuristic fighter jet.
If that wasn’t enough excitement, the cars were also fitted with warming ovens in the back so they could stay hot for the customer while the pizzas were being delivered.
Unfortunately, according to CBS, the pizza oven is long gone but the vehicle can still hold up to two people sitting one behind another.
Retrofuturism was all the rage in popular culture back in the 1980s, with films like ‘Back to the Future’ being released in 1985, featuring another futuristic car - the DeLorean.
Only a few Tritan A2 cars are left, and one lucky bidder can take this one home on 10 November at a Mecum Auction event in Las Vegas.
Its current owner, Chuck Sinnott, admits that the car is terrible to drive, but its unusual look is its most redeeming feature, reports CBS.

"This thing turns some heads. It’s a crowd pleaser," said Mr Sinnott. "But my wife and I can’t jump in it and go to Monterey."
The owner also told the outlet that he rarely drives the car, as it’s so low to the ground that potholes become a big issue, and the visibility out of the front is limited.
Mr Sinnott said he bought the car for around $25,000 from a Domino’s franchise owner in 2021.

Another Domino’s Tritan A2 was sold by the auction house Bonhams for $44,800, yet Mecum has not revealed what the car they are selling could go for.
The car was designed by father and son engineers James and Douglas Amick, according to the auction house, and includes large arched wings at the back, designed to propel the car forward, similar to a sail.
The auction house said it has an aerodynamic body with a purported 0.15 drag coefficient and will be sold along with a customised trailer to manoeuvre the car.
