British rapper Yung Filly has been charged with reckless driving in Australia while facing separate allegations of rape and assault.

The 29-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, had his car impounded after he was caught reportedly driving 98mph in a 60mph zone in November.

According to ABC News, the rapper - who boasts 3 million followers on Instagram - was captured by a speeding camera on Roe Highway near Kalamunda Road at the time.

Mr Barrientos will appear in court on charges of reckless driving next Thursday, the same day he also faces a court hearing for sexual assault.

The rapper was on bail at the time of the alleged speeding incident after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his Perth hotel following a nightclub appearance in September.

Local reports stated that the rapper was extradited from Brisbane to Perth for a hearing following the incident.

The following month, Mr Barrientos was charged with four counts of rape, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.

He was placed under strict bail conditions, which ordered Mr Barrientos to remain in West Australia and report to the police daily.

As per his bail conditions, the rapper has also been prohibited from posting about the case on social media.

Following the alleged attack, a live performance of his podcast The Chunkz and Filly Show was subsequently cancelled.

His contract with FootAsylum was also suspended, with a spokesperson confirming: “In light of these extremely serious charges, we are suspending our contract with Yung Filly with immediate effect”.

The Football Association also axes an online cookery series featuring Yung Filly the same month.

Mr Barrientos was originally born in Colombia before moving to the UK when he was a child.

He initially found fame in 2017 when he started releasing content online. He is best known as part of the YouTube Beta Squad, and his channel currently boasts 1.8 million subscribers.

Mr Barrientos then began gaining acclaim for his music. Some of his most well-known tracks include Confidence, where he featured alongside the rappers Chunkz and Gecko, and he also won a Mobo Award for best media personality in 2021.

In recent years, he has also made several TV appearances, including ITV's Soccer Aid and The Great Celebrity Bake Off on Channel 4.

Mr Barrientos has not released a statement since the latest incident. The Standard has approached a representative for Yung Filly for comment.

It is understood he is yet to respond publicly to the rape and sexual assault allegations.
