Rangers XI to face Queen of the South confirmed as McGregor, Matondo and Sakala choices made

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed his XI to take on Queen of the South in Premier Sports Cup round of 16 action at Ibrox.

It's been a relentless run of matches for the Light Blues amid domestic and Champions League action, with van Bronckhorst using this one to rest key men against Scottish League One opposition. Adam Devine, Leon King and Robbie Ure are youngsters thrown into the Rangers fold while Allan McGregor starts in goals for the first time since signing a new contract earlier this summer.

Fashion Sakala is given a chance to start in attack, as is new winger Rabbi Matondo. Ridvan Yilmaz is in at left-back and there's a number of youngsters who may debut from the bench. Regulars James Tavernier and Connor Goldson are given a rare rest, as is in-form striker Antonio Colak, who is loving life in Glasgow after signing from PAOK.

He said: “I am enjoying it so much. I am trying to work hard and to score so many goals in this short period couldn’t be better for me as a new player and I just want to continue like that and keep pushing."

Subs: McCrorie, Sands, Barisic, Fraser, McCann, Wright, Nsio, Lovelace, Stevens.
